Counselling or talking therapy is a conversation of a different sort, I work in a Person Centred way which means I work from a human potential stance, with the experience of the unique human being in front of me; together we can explore what you feel is not okay or has gone wrong in your life, or what you would like to improve.
Essentially psychotherapy is not that different from counselling. It is usually used to describe more long term work of a deeper nature. How we work together is entirely down to what you want out of our sessions. I aim to provide you with a unique experience tailored to your needs and wants.
This is a therapeutic way of being which puts the client at the centre and respects the uniqueness of people, it is built on a core belief in human potential and growth. The person centred approach relies on the relationship between therapist and client as the foremost healing element of therapy. Research across the various therapeutic approaches supports the view that it is the relationship which heals.
